- Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the cooked and mashed sweet potato, whole wheat flour, and unsweetened applesauce. Mix with a spoon or your hands until a cohesive dough forms.2 cups Cooked and Mashed Sweet Potato, 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour, 1/4 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
- Lightly flour a clean surface and your rolling pin. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters in fun shapes or simply cut into squares.
- Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the cookies are firm to the touch.
- Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Freeze for up to 2-3 months.
Small dogs: 1-2 cookies/day. Medium dogs: 2-3 cookies/day. Large dogs: up to 4 cookies/day.
