Ingredients
  

Chicken and Marinara Filling
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce your favorite brand or homemade
Wraps and Cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 large tortillas or wraps whole wheat, spinach, or regular
Optional Toppings
  • fresh basil leaves
  • red pepper flakes
  • extra marinara sauce for dipping

Method
 

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the cubed chicken pieces with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss well to ensure the chicken is evenly coated with the seasonings.

  2. Arrange the seasoned chicken in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary to ensure even cooking. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and lightly browned. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).

  3. While the chicken is air frying, gently warm up your marinara sauce in a small saucepan over low heat or in the microwave until it’s hot.

  4. Once the chicken is cooked, carefully remove it from the air fryer. In the same bowl you used for seasoning (or a clean one), combine the cooked chicken with the warmed marinara sauce. Stir until the chicken is well coated.

  5. Lay out your tortillas on a clean surface. Spoon an equal amount of the chicken and marinara mixture onto the center of each tortilla. Top generously with shredded mozzarella cheese.

  6. Fold in the sides of each tortilla and then roll them up tightly from the bottom. Place the assembled wraps back into the air fryer basket, seam-side down. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes, or until the tortillas are lightly golden and the cheese is melted and gooey. Alternatively, you can briefly toast them in a skillet or under the broiler until the cheese is melted.

  7. Carefully remove the wraps from the air fryer. Serve immediately, with optional toppings like fresh basil leaves, a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, or a side of extra marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Reheat in a skillet, oven, or air fryer.
