Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground chicken
  • 1 medium sweet potato about 8 ounces, peeled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup cooked peas
  • 1/4 cup cooked chopped carrots
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil extra virgin

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Method

  1. Place the cubed sweet potato in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for about 8-10 minutes, or until tender when pierced with a fork. Once cooked, mash it gently with a fork.
  2. In a bowl, combine the lean ground chicken with the mashed sweet potato, cooked peas, and cooked chopped carrots. Add the olive oil and mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
1 pound lean ground chicken, 1 medium sweet potato, 1/4 cup cooked peas, 1/4 cup cooked chopped carrots, 1 tablespoon olive oil
  3. Divide the mixture into small, individual portions. Gently form them into flattened patties, about 1/2 inch thick. These portions should be easy for your dog to eat.
  4. Arrange the patties in a single layer in your air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t overlap. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the patties are fully cooked through and no pink remains in the center. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  5. Allow the patties to cool completely before serving to your dog. You can serve them as is or crumble them over their regular kibble for an extra boost of flavor and nutrition.

Notes

Consult your veterinarian about portion sizes and to ensure it meets your dog's life stage nutritional needs. Introduce new foods gradually.
