Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, thoroughly mix the all-natural peanut butter, water, and egg (if using honey, add it here as well) until smooth and well combined.1 cup All-Natural Peanut Butter (xylitol-free), 1/2 cup Water, 1 Egg, 1 tablespoon Honey (optional)
- Gradually add the flour to the wet mixture, stirring until a stiff dough forms. You may need to use your hands to knead it together if it’s too crumbly.2 cups All-Purpose Flour (or Whole Wheat Flour)
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Use your favorite dog-bone cookie cutters or a knife to cut out the shapes.
- Place the cut-out treats onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between them. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the treats are firm.
- Allow the treats to cool completely on a wire rack before serving to your happy pup.
Notes
Store your cooled all natural peanut butter dog treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For longer storage, they can be frozen for up to 3 months. Ensure they are completely cooled before sealing them away to prevent moisture build-up. To reheat gently, a few seconds in a warm oven or microwave is sufficient for a delightful, fresh flavor. For frozen treats, thaw them naturally at room temperature or in the refrigerator before serving.
