Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rolled Oats Cooked until soft
  • 1/2 cup Cooked Sweet Potato Mashed thoroughly
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened Applesauce Plain, no added sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil Melted
  • 2 tablespoons Ground Flaxseed Mixed with 6 tablespoons of water and allowed to sit for 5 minutes (acts as a binding agent)
  • 1 tablespoon Turmeric Powder A powerful anti-inflammatory spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon Aromatic and beneficial

Equipment

  • - Baking Sheet
  • - Parchment Paper
  • Wire rack

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the mashed cooked sweet potato, unsweetened applesauce, melted coconut oil, and the flaxseed "egg" (ground flaxseed mixed with water). Stir until well combined.
1/2 cup Cooked Sweet Potato, 1/4 cup Unsweetened Applesauce, 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil, 2 tablespoons Ground Flaxseed
  3. Add the cooked rolled oats, turmeric powder, and cinnamon to the wet ingredients. Stir until everything is thoroughly incorporated and a thick dough forms.
1 cup Rolled Oats, 1 tablespoon Turmeric Powder, 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet. You can flatten them slightly with the back of the spoon or gently roll them into small, uniform shapes.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are firm to the touch and slightly golden brown around the edges.
  6. Remove from the oven and let the biscuits cool completely on a wire rack before serving. This ensures they are nice and crispy.

Notes

Introduce new treats gradually. Consult a veterinarian for dogs with allergies, sensitivities, or health conditions. Serve as a treat or training reward, not a meal replacement.
