Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cooked, mashed sweet potato Peeled and thoroughly cooked
  • 1/4 cup plain, unsweetened yogurt Optional, for gut health. Ensure live and active cultures and no xylitol.
  • Pinch dried parsley Optional, for freshness

Method
 

  1. Cook the boneless, skinless chicken breast by boiling or baking until thoroughly cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F or 74°C). Allow it to cool slightly, then finely shred it using two forks or a food processor.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, unsweetened pureed applesauce, mashed sweet potato, and optional plain yogurt and dried parsley.

  3. Stir all the ingredients together until they are well incorporated, creating a consistent mixture.
  4. Spoon the mixture into ice cube trays, silicone molds, or even small paper cups. Ensure you don't overfill them.
  5. Place the filled molds onto a flat surface in your freezer. Freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or until completely solid.
  6. Once frozen, pop out the Apple Chicken Pup Pops for dogs and serve one or two as a refreshing treat.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days, or in the freezer for up to 2-3 months. Consult your veterinarian before introducing new foods.
