Ingredients

  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour or Oat Flour for sensitive tummies
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cranberries finely chopped
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil melted

Equipment

  • - Baking Sheet
  • - Parchment Paper
  • Wire rack

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the unsweetened applesauce, egg, melted coconut oil, and water until well combined.
1/2 cup Unsweetened Applesauce, 1 Egg, 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil, 2 tablespoons Water
  3. Gradually add the whole wheat flour (or oat flour) to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
    1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  4. Gently fold in the finely chopped fresh cranberries.
    1/4 cup Fresh Cranberries
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut the dough into dental stick shapes (about 1/2 inch wide and 4-5 inches long). Alternatively, you can roll small pieces into balls.
  6. Place the dental sticks onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown and the sticks are firm to the touch.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the dental sticks cool completely on a wire rack before serving. This is crucial for their texture and to prevent any burns.
