  • ½ cup water
  • For the topping:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • 8 tablespoons 1 stick salted butter, melted

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter a 9x13-inch baking dish.

  3. In another bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir in the melted butter until crumbly.
  4. Spread the topping evenly over the apples, ensuring full coverage.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the topping is golden brown and crisp.
  6. Let cool slightly and serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
