Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix the all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour) and rolled oats until well combined.1 cup All-Purpose Flour (or Whole Wheat Flour), ½ cup Rolled Oats
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the unsweetened applesauce, all-natural peanut butter (ensure it's xylitol-free), and the large egg until smooth and creamy.½ cup Unsweetened Applesauce, ¼ cup All-Natural Peanut Butter (Xylitol-Free), 1 Large Egg Egg
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a stiff dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add a teaspoon of water at a time until it comes together. If it's too sticky, add a bit more flour.1 tablespoon Water
- Roll the dough into small, bite-sized balls, about ½ to ¾ inch in diameter, or flatten them slightly for easier chewing. You can also roll out the dough and use small cookie cutters for fun shapes.
- Place the dough balls or shapes onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown and the treats are firm to the touch.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the Apple Peanut Butter Bites for Dogs cool completely on a wire rack before serving them to your dog. This is crucial for safety.
