- In a medium mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the rolled oats and ground flaxseed. Stir well to ensure they are evenly distributed.1 cup Rolled Oats (Uncooked), 1 tablespoon Ground Flaxseed
- Add the natural, unsweetened peanut butter and unsweetened applesauce to the bowl with the dry ingredients.1/2 cup Natural, Unsweetened Peanut Butter, 1/2 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
- Stir and mash all the ingredients together using a sturdy spoon or your hands. Continue mixing until a thick, cohesive dough forms. If the mixture seems too dry and crumbly, add the water, one tablespoon at a time, until it holds together well when pressed.1 tablespoon Water
- Gently fold in the shredded carrots. You want them distributed throughout the mixture.1/4 cup Shredded Carrots (Raw)
- Take small portions of the dough, about one tablespoon each, and roll them between your palms to form bite-sized balls. Aim for a consistent size so your dog’s treats are uniform.
- Place the formed power balls on a plate or baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow them to firm up.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Can be frozen for 2-3 months.
