- 1. Prepare the Chicken: In a medium bowl, combine the cubed chicken with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Toss well until the chicken pieces are evenly coated. The cornstarch will help create a slightly crispy exterior and tender interior.1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2. Thread the Skewers: Thread the seasoned chicken pieces onto the pre-soaked bamboo skewers. Aim for 4-5 pieces per skewer, leaving a small space between each piece to ensure even cooking. Arrange the prepared skewers on a plate.1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, Bamboo skewers
- 3. Cook the Chicken: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken skewers in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through, with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Alternatively, grill them over medium heat for the same duration.2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4. Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce: While the chicken is cooking, prepare the signature Bang Bang sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar, honey (or maple syrup), and sesame oil until smooth and well combined. Taste and adjust the sriracha if you desire more heat, or honey for more sweetness.½ cup mayonnaise, ¼ cup sweet chili sauce, 2 tablespoons sriracha, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup, 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 5. Sauce and Serve: Once the chicken skewers are cooked, you have two options:
- Option 1 (Drizzle): Arrange the cooked skewers on a serving platter and generously drizzle the Bang Bang sauce over them.
- Option 2 (Toss): For maximum coverage, gently toss the hot chicken skewers in a large bowl with the sauce until every piece is coated.
- 6. Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro, toasted sesame seeds, and sliced green onions, if desired. Serve immediately with a side of rice, a fresh salad, or your favorite roasted vegetables for a complete meal.Chopped fresh cilantro, Toasted sesame seeds, Sliced green onions
Notes
Store any leftover skewers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. For optimal freshness, separate any remaining sauce.
