Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs Chicken Thighs (boneless, skinless)
  • 1 cup Brown Rice (cooked)
  • 1 cup Cooked Sweet Potatoes (mashed)
  • 1 cup Cooked Carrots (finely chopped)
  • 1 cup Cooked Peas (mashed or pureed)
  • 1/4 cup Cooked Oatmeal (plain, unsweetened)
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Flaxseed

Method
 

  1. In a large pot, boil or bake the chicken thighs until they are completely cooked through. This typically takes about 20-25 minutes when boiling, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) if baking. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the pot and let it cool slightly.

  2. Once the chicken is cool enough to handle, shred it into small, bite-sized pieces using two forks or your hands. Ensure all bones and skin have been removed.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cooked brown rice, mashed sweet potatoes, finely chopped cooked carrots, mashed peas, and cooked oatmeal.

  4. Drizzle the coconut oil over the mixture and sprinkle the ground flaxseed evenly.

  5. Gently mix all the ingredients together until they are well combined. Aim for a consistent texture that is easy for your dog to eat.
  6. Allow the mixed dog food to cool down to room temperature before serving or storing.
