Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 4 ripe but firm peaches halved and pitted
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Bourbon or rum (optional) for drizzling

Method

Instructions
  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Place the peach halves cut-side down in the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened and beginning to caramelize.
  3. Flip the peach halves. In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and water until a smooth paste forms.
  4. Spoon the brown sugar mixture over the cut side of each peach half. Let them cook for another 3-4 minutes until the sugar is melted and bubbly.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract. You can briefly spoon some of the caramel sauce over the peaches.
  6. Remove from heat. If using, drizzle with a little bourbon or rum. Serve immediately, warm.

Notes

For an extra decadent treat, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
