- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Place the peach halves cut-side down in the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened and beginning to caramelize.
- Flip the peach halves. In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and water until a smooth paste forms.
- Spoon the brown sugar mixture over the cut side of each peach half. Let them cook for another 3-4 minutes until the sugar is melted and bubbly.
- Stir in the vanilla extract. You can briefly spoon some of the caramel sauce over the peaches.
- Remove from heat. If using, drizzle with a little bourbon or rum. Serve immediately, warm.
Notes
For an extra decadent treat, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
