  • 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour Provides carbohydrates for energy and dietary fiber to support a healthy digestive system.
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Adds a warming aroma and flavor, and may have some anti-inflammatory properties.
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup Shredded Carrots A fantastic source of beta-carotene, which the body converts to Vitamin A, crucial for vision, immune function, and skin health. Also offers fiber. (Prepare by finely shredding).
  • ½ cup Unsweetened Applesauce Adds moisture and a touch of natural sweetness, along with fiber and Vitamin C. (No preparation needed, use as is).
  • ¼ cup Natural Peanut Butter (xylitol-free) A good source of protein and healthy fats, providing energy and supporting skin and coat health. Ensure it’s xylitol-free, as xylitol is toxic to dogs. (No preparation needed, use as is).
  • 2 Large Eggs Excellent source of protein, vitamins, and minerals essential for overall health. (No preparation needed, use as is).
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil (melted) Offers beneficial fatty acids that can support skin and coat health, and contribute to energy levels. (Melted).

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the unsweetened applesauce, natural peanut butter, melted coconut oil, and eggs until well combined and smooth.
    ½ cup Unsweetened Applesauce, ¼ cup Natural Peanut Butter (xylitol-free), 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil (melted), 2 Large Eggs
  3. Gradually add the whole wheat flour and cinnamon to the wet ingredients, mixing until a thick dough forms.

  4. Fold in the shredded carrots until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

  5. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about an inch between each treat. You can gently flatten them with the back of a spoon if desired.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the treats are firm to the touch.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the treats cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5-7 days. Freeze for up to 2-3 months.
