Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cooked Chicken Breast, finely shredded
  • 1/2 cup Cooked Sweet Potato, mashed
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1/4 cup Oat Flour (or finely ground rolled oats)
  • 1 tablespoon Pumpkin Puree (plain, unsweetened)

Equipment

  • - Oven
  • - Baking Sheet
  • - Parchment Paper
  • Medium Bowl
  • Wire rack

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the mashed sweet potato, unsweetened applesauce, and the egg. Stir until well mixed.
1/2 cup Cooked Sweet Potato, mashed, 1/4 cup Unsweetened Applesauce, 1 Large Egg
  3. Gently fold in the finely shredded cooked chicken breast and the plain pumpkin puree into the wet mixture.
1 cup Cooked Chicken Breast, finely shredded, 1 tablespoon Pumpkin Puree (plain, unsweetened)
  4. Gradually add the oat flour, mixing until a cohesive dough forms. It should be slightly sticky but manageable.
1/4 cup Oat Flour (or finely ground rolled oats)
  5. Using your hands or a small spoon, roll small portions of the dough into bite-sized balls, about ½ to ¾ inch in diameter. You can also flatten them slightly into small discs for easier chewing.
  6. Place the formed treats onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the treats are firm to the touch and lightly golden on the edges. The longer you bake them, the crunchier they will become.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the treats cool completely on the baking sheet or a wire rack before serving to your dog.

Notes

Store leftover treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5-7 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 2-3 months. Always consult your veterinarian before introducing new treats.
