Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour and cinnamon until well combined.1 ½ cups Whole Wheat Flour, ½ teaspoon Cinnamon
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then whisk in the applesauce and dog-safe peanut butter until smooth.1 Egg, ½ cup Unsweetened Applesauce, ¼ cup Dog-Safe Peanut Butter
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms. Add water 1 tablespoon at a time if the dough is too dry, or a little more flour if it’s too sticky.2 tablespoons Water
- Lightly flour a clean surface. Roll out the dough to about ¼-inch thickness. Use a knife or a small round cookie cutter to cut out small circles. For a true cinnamon roll look, you can roll out a thin sheet, spread a tiny bit of peanut butter, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon, roll it up tightly, and then slice it into small pinwheels.
- Place the treats on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between them. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown and the treats are firm to the touch.
- Remove from the oven and let the cinnamon roll dog treats for dogs cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
