Method
- In a mason jar, bowl, or airtight container, add the rolled oats and chia seeds. Stir them together to ensure the chia seeds are distributed evenly among the oats. This prevents clumping.1/2 cup rolled oats, 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- Pour in your chosen milk, Greek yogurt, maple syrup (or honey), and vanilla extract.1 cup milk, 1/4 cup Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Gently fold in the mashed or chopped strawberries. You can lightly mash them with a fork before adding them for a more integrated strawberry flavor, or chop them for distinct bursts of fruitiness.1/4 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
- Stir all the ingredients together until well combined. Make sure there are no dry clumps of oats or chia seeds at the bottom of the container. The mixture should be smooth and homogenous.
- Cover the container tightly and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, but ideally overnight. This allows the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid, creating the signature creamy, pudding-like texture.
- In the morning, give your Creamy Strawberries Cream Overnight Oats a good stir. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a splash more milk to reach your desired consistency. Top with fresh strawberry slices, a dollop of extra Greek yogurt, a sprinkle of your favorite granola, or a scattering of slivered almonds for added texture and flavor.fresh strawberry slices, a dollop of extra Greek yogurt, a sprinkle of granola, a few slivered almonds
Notes
Once prepared as per the instructions, the overnight oats can be kept fresh in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days.
If you prefer your oats warm, you can gently reheat them in a microwave-safe bowl or a small saucepan over low heat.
