Ingredients

  • 200 g good quality feta cheese, crumbled
  • 150 g cream cheese, softened
  • 60 ml Greek yogurt (full-fat recommended)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely chopped (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Pinch black pepper
  • Optional: A drizzle olive oil for serving
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for a touch of heat

Equipment

  • medium-sized mixing bowl
  • Fork (optional)
  • Spoon or whisk
  • Immersion blender or food processor (optional)
  • Serving bowl

Method

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, place the crumbled feta cheese. If your feta is quite firm, you can gently press it with a fork to break it down further, though it’s not essential as it will be blended.

  2. To the bowl with the feta, add the softened cream cheese. Ensure your cream cheese is at room temperature to create the smoothest possible dip. Next, add the Greek yogurt. The yogurt adds a wonderful tanginess and contributes to the dip's creamy texture.

  3. Add the minced garlic to the bowl. Don't worry about overwhelming the dip; the garlic provides a subtle warmth and depth of flavor. Stir in the finely chopped fresh dill and parsley, along with the lemon zest. Fresh herbs are key to the bright, refreshing taste of this dip.
2 cloves garlic, minced, 1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely chopped, 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped, 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
  4. Pour in the fresh lemon juice. This brightens all the flavors and cuts through the richness of the cheese. Add a pinch of freshly ground black pepper. Stir everything together with a spoon or whisk until the ingredients are roughly combined.
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, Pinch black pepper
  5. For the ultimate creamy consistency, you can either use an immersion blender directly in the bowl, or transfer the mixture to a food processor. Blend until the dip is smooth and creamy, taking care not to over-blend if you prefer a slightly rustic texture with tiny feta crumbles still visible. If you don’t have a blender, you can also use a sturdy whisk and mix vigorously by hand; it will take a bit more effort but is achievable.
  6. Once blended, taste the Cremiger Feta Dip. Adjust seasoning as needed. You might want a little more lemon juice for tanginess, more pepper for a kick, or even a pinch of salt if your feta isn't very salty (though feta is usually quite salty on its own).
  7. Transfer the Cremiger Feta Dip to a serving bowl. Drizzle with a little olive oil, if desired, for a richer mouthfeel and visual appeal. Garnish with extra fresh dill and parsley. For those who enjoy a bit of heat, a sprinkle of red pepper flakes is a fantastic addition. Serve immediately with your favorite dippers.
Optional: A drizzle olive oil, 1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely chopped, 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped, Optional: red pepper flakes
