  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons hot water

  • ice cubes

Method

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the instant coffee granules, granulated sugar, and hot water.
2 tablespoons instant coffee granules, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons hot water
  2. Using a whisk or an electric hand mixer, start whisking the mixture vigorously. Initially, it will look thin and watery. Continue to whisk, and you'll notice it gradually thicken and lighten in color. This process can take anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes with a whisk, or just 2-3 minutes with an electric mixer. Keep going until the mixture forms stiff, glossy peaks and holds its shape when you lift the whisk. It should resemble a light, airy mousse.
  3. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.

  4. Pour your chosen milk over the ice, leaving about an inch or two of space at the top.
    1 cup milk
  5. Gently spoon the whipped coffee foam on top of the milk. Be generous!
  6. You can enjoy it immediately as is, or if you prefer, you can stir the foam into the milk before drinking for a more integrated coffee flavor.

Notes

The Dalgona whipped topping is best enjoyed fresh as it can deflate over time. You can store leftover whipped coffee mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. If you made too much whipped topping, you can freeze it in a shallow airtight container.
