- Bring a large pot of generously salted water to a rolling boil. Add your whole wheat pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of the pasta cooking water before draining the pasta.12 ounces whole wheat pasta (spaghetti or linguine recommended)
- While the pasta is cooking, in a medium-sized bowl, combine the tahini, fresh lemon juice, minced garlic, sea salt, and black pepper.1 cup tahini, 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice, 3 cloves garlic, 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Begin whisking the ingredients together. The mixture will likely seize up and become very thick initially. This is normal!
- Gradually add the reserved pasta cooking water, one tablespoon at a time, while continuously whisking. Continue adding water until the sauce reaches your desired creamy, pourable consistency. You may not need all of the reserved water, or you might need a little more. The sauce should be smooth and emulsified, free of lumps. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, pepper, or lemon juice as per your preference.1/4 cup water, 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- Add the drained, cooked pasta directly to the bowl with the tahini sauce.12 ounces whole wheat pasta (spaghetti or linguine recommended)
- Gently toss the pasta with the sauce until it is evenly coated. If the sauce seems a little too thick, add another tablespoon of pasta water to loosen it up.
- Portion the Daniel Fast Simple Tahini Pasta into bowls. Garnish generously with your desired toppings. Fresh parsley adds brightness, roasted red pepper strips bring a touch of sweetness, a pinch of red pepper flakes offers a subtle kick, and toasted sesame seeds provide a nutty crunch.fresh parsley, chopped, roasted red pepper strips, red pepper flakes, toasted sesame seeds
