Ingredients

  • refrigerated crescent roll seamless dough sheets
  • pizza sauce your favorite brand or homemade
  • shredded mozzarella cheese
  • pepperoni slices or your favorite pizza toppings like cooked sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions
  • dried Italian seasoning optional, for extra flavor
  • garlic powder optional, for extra flavor

Equipment

  • - Oven
  • 9-inch pie plate or round cake pan
  • - Baking Sheet

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie plate or a round cake pan with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Unroll one can of the seamless crescent roll dough. Carefully press the dough to seal any perforations, creating a solid sheet. Gently press this dough sheet into the bottom and up the sides of your prepared pie plate or cake pan, forming a crust. Make sure to press the dough firmly against the edges to create a good seal, preventing the filling from leaking out.

  3. Unroll the second can of seamless crescent roll dough. Again, press the dough to seal any perforations. Lay this second sheet of dough over the first one, gently pressing the edges together to seal them all around. This creates the "deep dish" effect, encasing the toppings.

  4. Evenly spread the pizza sauce over the top layer of crescent roll dough, leaving a small border around the edge (about 1/2 inch) to prevent sauce from bubbling over.

  5. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the pizza sauce.

  6. Arrange your pepperoni slices or other desired toppings evenly over the cheese. If you're using Italian seasoning and garlic powder, sprinkle them over the toppings at this stage for an extra burst of aroma and flavor.

  7. Place the pie plate or cake pan on a baking sheet (this catches any potential drips). Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent roll crust is golden brown and cooked through, and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  8. Remove the Deep Dish Crescent Roll Pizzas from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the cheese to set slightly and makes it easier to cut.

Notes

Leftover Deep Dish Crescent Roll Pizzas can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 8-12 minutes.
