Method
- In a medium-sized bowl or jar, whisk together the milk of your choice, Greek yogurt, maple syrup or honey, and vanilla extract until well combined and smooth.1 cup milk of choice, 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Stir in the rolled oats and chia seeds. Ensure the chia seeds are evenly distributed to prevent clumping.1/2 cup rolled oats, 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- Gently fold in the mashed or finely chopped strawberries. You can reserve a few for topping if you like. If using frozen strawberries, they will thaw overnight and release their delicious juices, infusing the oats with even more flavor.1/2 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
- Stir everything together ensuring all the oats and chia seeds are submerged in the liquid mixture. This is crucial for proper hydration and achieving that desired creamy texture.1/2 cup rolled oats, 1 tablespoon chia seeds, 1 cup milk of choice
- Cover the bowl or screw the lid onto your jar tightly. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, but ideally overnight, to allow the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid and thicken beautifully.
- In the morning, give the overnight oats a good stir. If the mixture is too thick for your liking, you can add a splash more milk. Spoon into bowls and add your favorite toppings.1 cup milk of choice
Notes
Store prepared oats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. For convenience, prepare individual portions. Overnight oats can be gently warmed on the stovetop or in the microwave if preferred. Freezing is also an option for longer-term storage, though texture may change slightly upon thawing.
