  • 1/4 cup Cooked Sweet Potato mashed. Rich in vitamins A and C, and fiber for healthy digestion. Also adds a touch of natural sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon Cooked Carrot finely grated or pureed. Brilliant source of beta-carotene for eye health and antioxidants.
  • 1 tablespoon Plain, Unsweetened Greek Yogurt optional, for probiotic boost. Supports gut health and digestion, promoting a healthy immune system. Ensure it's truly plain and free of sweeteners.

Equipment

  • Small Saucepan
  • Airtight container
  • Ice Cube Trays (optional)
  • Freezer-Safe Containers (optional)
  • Microwave-safe bowl (for reheating)

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, gently heat the low-sodium chicken broth over medium-low heat until warm. Do not boil.
1 cup Low-Sodium Chicken Broth (unsalted)
  2. Add the shredded or finely chopped cooked chicken, mashed sweet potato, and grated or pureed cooked carrot to the warm broth.
1/2 cup Cooked Chicken Breast or Thigh, 1/4 cup Cooked Sweet Potato, 1 tablespoon Cooked Carrot
  3. Stir all ingredients together thoroughly. Let the mixture simmer gently for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sweet potato to help slightly thicken the gravy.
  4. If using, remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the plain Greek yogurt until well incorporated. This helps preserve the beneficial probiotics.
1 tablespoon Plain, Unsweetened Greek Yogurt
  5. Allow the gravy to cool down to room temperature completely before serving to your dog. This is crucial to prevent any burns.

Notes

This gravy is best served as a topper to your dog's regular kibble or as a small portion of a mixed meal. Consult your veterinarian for personalized feeding recommendations. Always ensure the food is completely cooled before serving.
