Method
- Start by brewing a strong batch of coffee. You can use your favorite drip coffee maker, French press, or even an espresso machine. For the best flavor, aim for a dark roast or espresso. Once brewed, let it cool completely. For a quicker chill, you can pour the hot coffee into a heatproof container and place it in the refrigerator or freezer for about 15-20 minutes, but ensure it's cooled before proceeding to avoid melting the ice too quickly.
- Select a tall glass for your Dunkin Caramel Iced Coffee. You can optionally pre-warm the glass slightly if you're concerned about rapid ice melt, but it's not essential.
- Pour the chilled strong brewed coffee into your prepared glass. Add your chosen milk (dairy, almond, oat, soy, etc.) to the glass.1 cup strong brewed coffee, chilled, 1/2 cup milk
- Add the caramel sauce. Start with 2 tablespoons for a balanced flavor, and add a third if you prefer it sweeter. If you like your coffee extra sweet, this is also the time to add the optional granulated sugar. Stir everything together gently to begin incorporating the caramel into the coffee and milk mixture.2-3 tablespoons caramel sauce, 1 tablespoon sugar
- Fill the glass generously with ice cubes. The more ice, the colder and more refreshing your coffee will be.1 cup ice cubes
- Once the ice is in, stir the mixture thoroughly. This is crucial for evenly distributing the caramel sauce, sugar (if used), and milk throughout the coffee, ensuring every sip is perfectly flavored. Continue stirring until the caramel sauce is well incorporated and no longer clumping at the bottom.
- For the ultimate Dunkin experience, top your homemade Caramel Iced Coffee with a swirl of whipped cream. Drizzle a little extra caramel sauce over the whipped cream for an extra layer of decadent flavor and visual appeal.Whipped cream, Extra caramel drizzle
