Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the unsweetened applesauce and xylitol-free peanut butter until well combined.1 cup Unsweetened Applesauce, 1/4 cup Peanut Butter (xylitol-free)
- Gradually add the whole wheat flour and rolled oats to the wet ingredients. Stir until a thick, workable dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more whole wheat flour, one tablespoon at a time. If it’s too dry, add a touch more water, a teaspoon at a time.1 cup Whole Wheat Flour, 1/2 cup Rolled Oats, 2 Tablespoons Water
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter to shape the dough into your desired treat shapes. Alternatively, you can simply roll small balls or flatten them by hand.
- Place the shaped treats onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between them. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown and the treats are firm to the touch.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the treats cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Ensure they are fully cooled before serving to your dog.
Notes
