Ingredients

  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1/2 cup Rolled Oats (uncooked)
  • 1/2 cup Grated Carrots finely grated
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 large Egg

Equipment

  • - Oven
  • - Baking Sheet
  • - Parchment Paper
  • Medium Mixing Bowl
  • Wire rack
  • Cookie Cutter

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and rolled oats. Stir until well mixed.
1 cup Whole Wheat Flour, 1/2 cup Rolled Oats (uncooked)
  3. Add the grated carrots, unsweetened applesauce, and the egg to the dry ingredients.
1/2 cup Grated Carrots, 1/4 cup Unsweetened Applesauce, 1 large Egg
  4. Mix all ingredients together until a firm dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add a teaspoon of water at a time until it comes together. If too sticky, add a tablespoon of flour.
    1/4 cup Water
  5. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use a small cookie cutter or knife to cut out desired shapes (like little bones or circles).
  6. Place the shaped crunchies onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the crunchies are firm and dry to the touch. Cooking time may vary slightly depending on the size and thickness of your shapes.
  7. Allow the Easy Carrot Apple Crunchies for Dogs to cool completely on a wire rack before serving or storing.

Notes
