Ingredients

Dip Base
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Softened
  • 6 oz Imitation Crab Meat (Surimi) Flaked or chopped
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese Sharp Cheddar, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream
  • 1/4 cup Green Onions (Scallions) Thinly sliced, whites and greens separated
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
Topping
  • 1/4 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Melted Butter
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese Grated
For Serving
  • 1 package Wonton Strips or Tortilla Chips

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a medium-sized oven-safe skillet or an 8x8 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, sour cream, 2 tablespoons of the green onions (reserving the rest for garnish), minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Mix until completely smooth and well combined.
  3. Gently fold in the flaked crab meat and black pepper. Make sure the crab is evenly distributed without overmixing.
  4. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread into an even layer. In a small bowl, toss the panko breadcrumbs with the melted butter and grated Parmesan cheese to create a crunchy topping.
  5. Sprinkle the buttered panko mixture evenly over the top of the dip. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly around the edges and the topping is golden brown and crisp.
  6. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with the remaining sliced green onions. Serve hot with wonton strips or your favorite chips.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, you can add 1 teaspoon of hot sauce (like Sriracha) to the dip base. If you prefer less richness, you can replace the sour cream with plain Greek yogurt.
