Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar packed
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • 1/4 cup milk or dairy-free alternative like almond or oat milk
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee or espresso chilled
  • ice cubes

Method
 

  1. In a small heatproof bowl or mug, combine the 1 tablespoon of packed brown sugar with 2 tablespoons of hot water. Stir vigorously until the brown sugar is completely dissolved and you have a smooth, caramel-colored liquid.

  2. Pour the 1/4 cup of milk into your serving glass. Next, pour over the 1 cup of chilled strong brewed coffee or espresso.

  3. Pour the prepared brown sugar syrup into the glass with the milk and coffee. Stir everything together gently until well combined.
  4. Fill the glass generously with ice cubes.

Notes

The prepared brown sugar syrup can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Brewed coffee or espresso can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
It is not recommended to store the fully assembled iced coffee with ice.
