- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the baguette slices in a single layer on a baking sheet. Lightly brush both sides of each slice with olive oil.1 baguette baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds, 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for drizzling
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and lightly crispy. Keep an eye on them as they can toast quickly.
- Once toasted, remove the bread from the oven. While still warm, gently rub each slice with the cut side of the halved garlic clove. This infuses a subtle garlicky flavor.1 clove garlic, halved
- In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, balsamic glaze, chopped basil, chopped parsley, grated Parmesan cheese (if using), salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir gently to combine all the flavors.2 large ripe tomatoes, diced, 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze, 1 tablespoon fresh basil, finely chopped, 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped, 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese, Salt and freshly ground black pepper, 1 pinch red pepper flakes
- If you want perfect heart shapes on top, use your heart-shaped cookie cutter to gently press down on a few of the larger tomato pieces, aiming for a heart-like shape. This is a small step that adds major visual appeal to your Heart-Shaped Bruschetta Appetizers.1 Heart-shaped cookie cutter
