Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats ground
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 large carrot carrot grated
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter xylitol-free, unsweetened

  • - Baking Sheet
  • - Parchment Paper
  • Medium Bowl
  • Cookie Cutter
  • Wire rack

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a medium bowl, mash the ripe banana until smooth. Stir in the unsweetened applesauce and xylitol-free peanut butter until well combined.

  4. Fold in the grated carrot until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

  5. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter of your choice (bone-shaped is always a hit!) to cut out the treats. Alternatively, you can simply roll the dough into small balls and flatten them slightly.
  6. Place the treats on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they have a little space between them. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and firm to the touch.
  7. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the treats cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. This is crucial to prevent them from becoming soggy.
