Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rolled Oats Cooked and cooled
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Parsley Finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Plain Unsweetened Applesauce Mashed or pureed
  • 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil Melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/4 cup Water as needed

Equipment

  • - Baking Sheet
  • - Parchment Paper
  • Wire rack

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the cooked and cooled rolled oats and baking soda.
1 cup Rolled Oats, 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
  3. To the dry ingredients, add the finely chopped fresh parsley, plain unsweetened applesauce, and melted coconut oil. Mix well until a dough forms.
1/2 cup Fresh Parsley, 1/4 cup Plain Unsweetened Applesauce, 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil
  4. If the dough seems too dry, add a tablespoon of water at a time until it's pliable and easy to handle.
    1/4 cup Water
  5. Roll small portions of the dough into bite-sized balls, about the size of a large blueberry. You can also lightly flatten them with your fingers or a fork.
  6. Place the formed treats onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between them. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the treats are firm to the touch.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the Homemade Breath Mint Dog Treats cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
