Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked, unseasoned chicken breast shredded
  • 1 cup cooked sweet potato plain, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tablespoons pure pumpkin puree not pie filling
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup boiling water

Equipment

  • - Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper or silicone mat
  • Dog-Safe Silicone Molds (Optional)
  • Medium Bowl

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the cooked, shredded chicken, mashed sweet potato, unsweetened applesauce, and plain pumpkin puree. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well-integrated.
1 cup cooked, unseasoned chicken breast, 1 cup cooked sweet potato, 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce, 2 tablespoons pure pumpkin puree
  2. Stir in the chia seeds until evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
    1 tablespoon chia seeds
  3. Pour the boiling water over the chia seed mixture. Stir quickly for about 30 seconds until the mixture begins to thicken slightly. This process helps the chia seeds form a gel-like consistency.
1/4 cup boiling water, 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  4. Spoon small mounds of the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Alternatively, you can use small, dog-safe silicone molds for fun shapes. Aim for bite-sized portions suitable for your dog.
  5. Place the baking sheet or molds in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours, or until the gummies are firm and have set completely.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 2-3 months.
