Ingredients

Dry Tea Blend Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup Dried Peppermint Leaves High quality for best flavor
  • 1/4 cup Dried Spearmint Leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Cacao Nibs Or high-quality unsweetened cocoa powder (use 1 Tbsp)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Chamomile Flowers For subtle sweetness and relaxation
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Bean Powder (Optional) For enhanced richness

Method

Instructions
  1. Gather all dry ingredients: peppermint, spearmint, cacao nibs, chamomile, and vanilla powder (if using).
  2. If using cacao nibs, lightly crush them using a mortar and pestle or the back of a heavy spoon to help release their flavor during steeping. Be careful not to grind them into a fine powder.
  3. In a clean, dry bowl, gently combine the crushed cacao nibs, peppermint, spearmint, and chamomile flowers. Mix thoroughly to evenly distribute all components.
  4. Store the blended tea mixture in an airtight container (like a glass jar) in a cool, dark place to maintain freshness and potency. The blend is now ready for use.
  5. To brew 1 serving: measure 1.5 teaspoons of the blend per 8 ounces of hot water (just off the boil, around 200°F/93°C).
  6. Steep, covered, for 5 to 7 minutes. Strain the tea leaves well before serving. Sweeten with honey or a few drops of stevia, if desired.

Notes

The quality of the mint is crucial for this blend. Avoid aged or dusty mint. This blend is naturally caffeine-free. For a richer chocolate flavor, briefly toast the cacao nibs in a dry pan over medium-low heat for 2 minutes before crushing.
