Method
- Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the unsweetened applesauce, melted coconut oil, plain yogurt, egg, and pumpkin purée until well combined.1/4 cup Unsweetened applesauce, 1 tablespoon Coconut oil, 2 tablespoons Plain, unsweetened yogurt (probiotic-rich), 1 Large egg, 1/2 cup Pumpkin purée
- Stir in the all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour), finely chopped fresh parsley, and cinnamon until a thick dough forms.1 cup All-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour for extra fiber), 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
- Lightly flour your hands and roll small portions of the dough into bite-sized balls or flat discs. You can also press the dough into a lightly greased cookie sheet and cut into squares. Ensure they are not too thick so they bake evenly.
- Place the formed treats onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the treats are firm to the touch. For softer treats, bake for a shorter duration; for crunchier ones, extend the time slightly.
- Remove the treats from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack before offering them to your dog. This step is crucial for safety and to prevent any sogginess.
