Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a large bowl, combine the lean ground turkey or chicken, rolled oats, plain pumpkin puree, and the egg.1 pound lean ground turkey or chicken, 1/2 cup rolled oats, 1/4 cup pumpkin puree (plain, unsweetened), 1 large egg
- Add the chia seeds and fresh chopped parsley to the bowl.1 tablespoon chia seeds, 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (fresh, safe for dogs)
- Mix all ingredients thoroughly with your hands or a sturdy spoon until well combined. The mixture should be moist but hold its shape.
- Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, or flatten them slightly. For easier portioning, you can also press the mixture into small muffin tins.
- Place the formed treats on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the treats are firm to the touch and cooked through. The edges should be lightly golden.
- Allow the treats to cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Can be frozen for longer storage.
