  • 1/4 cup pumpkin puree (plain, unsweetened)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (fresh, safe for dogs)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the lean ground turkey or chicken, rolled oats, plain pumpkin puree, and the egg.

  3. Add the chia seeds and fresh chopped parsley to the bowl.

  4. Mix all ingredients thoroughly with your hands or a sturdy spoon until well combined. The mixture should be moist but hold its shape.
  5. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, or flatten them slightly. For easier portioning, you can also press the mixture into small muffin tins.
  6. Place the formed treats on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the treats are firm to the touch and cooked through. The edges should be lightly golden.
  8. Allow the treats to cool completely on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Can be frozen for longer storage.
