  • 1 can (5 oz) Tuna in Water, drained
  • 1 large Egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup Rolled Oats, uncooked
  • 1/4 cup Whole Wheat Flour (or oat flour for gluten-sensitive dogs)
  • 1 tablespoon Nutritional Yeast (optional)

Equipment

  • - Baking Sheet
  • - Parchment Paper
  • Mixing bowl
  • Wire rack

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, lightly beaten egg, uncooked rolled oats, and whole wheat flour (or oat flour). If using, add the nutritional yeast now.
1 can (5 oz) Tuna in Water, drained, 1 large Egg, lightly beaten, 1/2 cup Rolled Oats, uncooked, 1/4 cup Whole Wheat Flour (or oat flour for gluten-sensitive dogs), 1 tablespoon Nutritional Yeast (optional)
  3. Stir all ingredients together until well combined, forming a slightly sticky dough. You can use a fork or your hands.
  4. Take small portions of the dough (about 1-2 teaspoons) and roll them into bite-sized balls or flatten them slightly with your palm. You can also use small cookie cutters for fun shapes.
  5. Place the formed treats onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the treats are firm to the touch and lightly golden brown around the edges. The longer you bake them, the crunchier they will become.
  6. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the treats cool completely on a wire rack before serving or storing.

Notes

Store cooled treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 1-2 months.
