Ingredients

Brown Sugar Syrup
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup Water
Chai Tea Base
  • 1 cup Strong Chai Tea Concentrate (or 4 Chai Tea Bags brewed very strong) Cooled
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
Assembly
  • 1.5 cup Milk of choice (Whole, Oat, or Almond) Chilled
  • 1-2 cup Ice Cubes Per glass

Method

Instructions
  1. Prepare the Brown Sugar Syrup: Combine the brown sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth, about 3-5 minutes. Do not allow it to boil rapidly. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Prepare the Chai Base: If using tea bags, steep them in 1 cup of hot water for 8-10 minutes to create a strong concentrate. Remove bags and let the tea cool to room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator.
  4. Assemble the Drinks: In two tall glasses, divide the cooled brown sugar syrup evenly (about 1/4 cup per glass, adjust to taste).
  5. Fill each glass almost completely with ice cubes.
  6. Pour the cooled chai concentrate evenly over the ice in both glasses, adding the vanilla extract to the mixture.
  7. Top each glass with chilled milk, pouring slowly so the syrup coats the bottom. Stir gently before enjoying.

Notes

For easier chilling, this recipe can be prepared in advance, storing the syrup and chai concentrate separately in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
