Ingredients

Tea Concentrate
  • 2 cups Water
  • 4 bags Earl Grey Tea Or 2 tablespoons loose leaf
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar Adjust to taste
Assembly
  • 1/2 cup Milk (Whole or Oat) Chilled
  • 1 cup Ice Cubes For serving

Method

Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water and the granulated sugar to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove immediately from heat.
  2. Place the Earl Grey tea bags (or loose leaf tea in an infuser) into the hot sugar water. Cover the saucepan and let steep for exactly 5 minutes for a strong, flavorful concentrate. Do not over-steep to avoid bitterness.
  3. Remove the tea bags or infuser. Allow the tea concentrate to cool to room temperature for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to the refrigerator to chill completely (about 30 minutes minimum, or speed chill by placing it in an ice bath).
  4. To assemble, divide the chilled ice cubes evenly between two tall glasses.
  5. Pour half of the chilled Earl Grey concentrate into each glass, filling them about 3/4 full.
  6. Top each glass with 1/4 cup of chilled milk. Stir lightly once or twice to combine the layers and enjoy immediately.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use evaporated milk instead of regular milk. If you prefer a sweeter drink, add condensed milk during the assembly stage. Ensure the tea concentrate is cold before mixing to prevent the ice from melting too quickly.
