- Ensure the cream cheese is completely softened to room temperature for easy mixing.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Gradually beat in the sweetened condensed milk until fully combined and smooth. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
- Gently fold in the key lime juice and lime zest until just incorporated. Be careful not to overmix once the acid is added.
- Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping using a spatula until no white streaks remain. Ensure the texture is light and airy.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the dip to firm up slightly.
- Just before serving, sprinkle the top evenly with graham cracker crumbs, if desired.
Notes
Serve this dip with fresh strawberries, pineapple chunks, apple slices, or graham crackers for dipping. For a stricter key lime flavor, use only authentic key lime juice.
