Ingredients

For the Cream of Rice
  • 1/2 cup Cream of Rice cereal
  • 2 cups Water Or milk for a richer texture
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
For Topping
  • 2 tablespoons Pure Maple Syrup Adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Butter (optional) Or coconut oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon Ground

Method

Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, combine the water (or milk), Cream of Rice cereal, and salt.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming on the bottom.
  3. Once boiling, immediately reduce the heat to low. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, for about 5 minutes, or until the cereal has thickened to your desired consistency.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Allow the mixture to rest, covered, for 1-2 minutes to set further.
  5. Pour the hot Cream of Rice into a bowl.
  6. Top immediately with the pure maple syrup, butter (if using), and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon. Stir gently before serving hot.

Notes

For a richer bowl, substitute the water with unsweetened almond milk or whole milk. If you prefer a creamier texture straight off the heat, let it stand for 3 minutes before serving.
