Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 1 frozen banana Sliced for easier blending
  • 1 fresh spinach Packed
  • 1 teaspoon matcha Ceremonial or culinary grade
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened almond milk Or milk of choice
  • 1 tablespoon Greek yogurt Optional, for extra protein
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds

Method

Instructions
  1. Combine the almond milk and matcha powder in the blender first. Blend for 10-15 seconds until the matcha is fully dissolved and there are no clumps.
  2. Add the fresh spinach to the blender. Blend again until the spinach has completely broken down and incorporated into the liquid.
  3. Add the frozen banana slices, Greek yogurt (if using), and chia seeds to the blender.
  4. Blend on high speed, using a tamper if necessary, until the smoothie is completely smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash more almond milk.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary (a small date or a drizzle of honey can be added).
  6. Pour immediately into a glass and enjoy.

Notes

Using a frozen banana is key for achieving a thick, cold texture without needing ice, which can dilute the flavor. For a complete meal replacement, consider adding a scoop of vanilla protein powder.
