Ingredients

Dip Base
  • 16 oz Cream Cheese Softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 packet Ranch Dressing Mix Dry seasoning mix (e.g., Hidden Valley)
  • 8 oz Sharp Cheddar Cheese Shredded
  • 6 slices Bacon Cooked until crisp and crumbled
  • 4 oz Green Chiles Diced (optional, for a little tang)
Topping & Serving
  • 4 oz Shredded Cheddar Cheese For the top layer
  • 4 slices Bacon Extra crispy, crumbled, for garnish
  • 2 Tbsp Green Onions Sliced, for garnish

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie plate or a small oven-safe skillet.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, packet of dry ranch seasoning, 8 ounces of shredded cheddar cheese, 6 slices of crumbled bacon, and the diced green chiles (if using). Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Transfer the dip mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it into an even layer.
  4. Top the mixture evenly with the remaining 4 ounces of shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese on top is fully melted, bubbly, and lightly golden brown around the edges.
  6. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with the extra crumbled bacon and sliced green onions. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving hot with tortilla chips, sturdy crackers, or vegetable sticks.

Notes

For an extra rich flavor, you can substitute half of the sour cream with mayonnaise. If you prefer a smoky flavor, use smoked paprika in addition to the ranch seasoning. This dip tastes even better if assembled ahead of time and baked just before serving.
