Ingredients

  • 4 cups cubed seedless watermelon, frozen Ensure the watermelon cubes are roughly uniform in size for even freezing and blending.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar or to taste. Adjust sweetness based on the natural sweetness of your watermelon. Honey or maple syrup can also be used as alternatives.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice This brightens the watermelon flavor and adds a subtle tang.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances the sweetness and overall flavor profile.
  • 1-2 tablespoons water or a little more liquid, like coconut water or milk, for a creamier texture. Used for re-spinning.

Equipment

  • Ninja Creami
  • Ninja Creami pint
  • - Baking Sheet
  • - Parchment Paper

Method

  1. Ensure your seedless watermelon is cubed and spread in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze for at least 8 hours, or preferably overnight, until completely solid. This is a crucial step for achieving the perfect sorbet texture.

  2. Once your watermelon is frozen solid, transfer the frozen cubes into the Ninja Creami pint. Add the granulated sugar (or your chosen sweetener), fresh lime juice, and salt.
4 cups cubed seedless watermelon, frozen, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice, 1/4 teaspoon salt
  3. Secure the lid and attach the outer bowl. Place the pint in the outer bowl and attach the blade assembly. Lock the assembly into the outer bowl and then lock the outer bowl onto the Outer Bowl Latch. Select the "Sorbet" function on your Ninja Creami machine and let it process.
  4. After the initial cycle, the sorbet might appear crumbly. This is normal. If it’s not smooth enough for your liking, create a well in the center of the sorbet and add about 1-2 tablespoons of water (or a little more liquid, like coconut water or milk, for a creamier texture). Re-process using the "Re-spin" function. You may need to re-spin 1-2 more times until you achieve a smooth, scoopable consistency.
    1-2 tablespoons water
  5. Once the sorbet is perfectly smooth and creamy, scoop it directly into bowls. Serve immediately for the freshest experience.

Notes

Store leftovers in the Ninja Creami pint with the lid on. Consume within 1-2 weeks. May need to re-spin after freezing.
