  • maraschino cherries

Equipment

  • 9-inch pie plate
  • Medium Bowl
  • Large Bowl
  • Electric mixer
  • Small Bowl
  • Spatula

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the crushed chocolate wafer cookies and melted butter. Stir until the crumbs are evenly moistened.
2.5 cups crushed chocolate wafer cookies, 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  2. Pour the cookie crumb mixture into a 9-inch pie plate. Use the bottom of a glass or your fingers to firmly press the crumbs evenly across the bottom and up the sides of the pie plate, creating a sturdy base for your pie.
  3. Place the pie plate with the crust into the refrigerator to chill and firm up while you prepare the filling. This usually takes about 10-15 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
1 8 ounce package cream cheese
  5. Gradually add the powdered sugar to the cream cheese, beating until well combined and no lumps remain.
    1 cup powdered sugar
  6. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can deflate the whipped topping.
1 8 ounce container frozen whipped topping
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the milk and vanilla extract. Add this mixture to the cream cheese filling and mix until smooth.
0.25 cup milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  8. Add the green food coloring, starting with 4-5 drops. Mix thoroughly until you achieve a vibrant, festive Grinch-green color. Add more drops if you prefer a more intense green.
    4-5 drops green food coloring
  9. If using mini chocolate chips, gently fold them into the green filling. These add a delightful "Grinchy" surprise within the pie.
    0.5 cup mini chocolate chips
  10. Spoon the green filling evenly into the chilled cookie crust, spreading it smoothly with a spatula.
  11. Cover the pie loosely with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the filling is firm and set. Chilling is crucial for the pie to hold its shape when sliced.
  12. Before serving, decorate your No Bake Grinch Pie with a generous swirl of whipped cream. Add red sprinkles or drizzle melted red candy melts for a festive Grinch-like accent, and top with maraschino cherries for extra holiday cheer. Slice and enjoy the festive flavors!
