Ingredients

  • 1 cup Canned Pumpkin Puree (plain, unsweetened) Mashed
  • 1/2 cup Natural Peanut Butter (xylitol-free, unsalted) Smooth or crunchy
  • 1/4 cup Rolled Oats (uncooked) Ground or whole
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Flaxseed Finely ground
  • 1/4 cup Water (or unsweetened applesauce) To adjust consistency

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • - Baking Sheet
  • - Parchment Paper
  • Cookie Cutter (optional)

Method

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the canned pumpkin puree and the xylitol-free natural peanut butter until they are well blended and smooth.
1 cup Canned Pumpkin Puree (plain, unsweetened), 1/2 cup Natural Peanut Butter (xylitol-free, unsalted)
  2. Gradually incorporate the rolled oats and ground flaxseed into the wet mixture. Stir well until everything is evenly distributed, forming a slightly sticky dough.
1/4 cup Rolled Oats (uncooked), 1 tablespoon Ground Flaxseed
  3. If the dough seems too dry and crumbly, add water (or unsweetened applesauce) a tablespoon at a time until it reaches a consistency that is easy to roll and shape. If it’s too wet, add a little more ground oats or flaxseed.
1/4 cup Water (or unsweetened applesauce), 1/4 cup Rolled Oats (uncooked), 1 tablespoon Ground Flaxseed
  4. Roll the dough into small bite-sized balls or flatten and use a cookie cutter to create fun shapes. Aim for pieces that are appropriate for your dog's size.
  5. Place the shaped treats on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for at least 30-60 minutes to allow them to firm up and set properly.

Notes
