Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup 100% pure pumpkin puree (not pie filling)
  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ½ cup rolled oats (uncooked)
  • ¼ cup unsweetened, unsalted peanut butter Ensure it does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the 1 cup of 100% pure pumpkin puree and ½ cup of unsweetened applesauce. Stir them together until well combined and smooth.

  2. Incorporate ¼ cup of unsweetened, unsalted peanut butter into the pumpkin and applesauce mixture. Mix thoroughly until the peanut butter is evenly distributed throughout the wet ingredients.

  3. Gradually add ½ cup of rolled oats (uncooked) and 2 tablespoons of chia seeds to the bowl. Stir everything together until a thick, consistent dough forms.

  4. Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and mix it in well. Ensure the cinnamon is evenly distributed for a consistent flavor and aroma.

  5. Take small portions of the dough and roll them into bite-sized balls or flatten them into cookie shapes. You can also press the dough into small molds if you have them.
  6. Place the formed treats on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator and chill for at least 30-60 minutes, or until the treats are firm enough to handle easily.
