Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound Lean Ground Chicken
  • 1 cup Brown Rice, cooked fluffy, cooked as per package directions
  • 1 medium Sweet Potato, cooked and mashed peeled and steamed or boiled until fork-tender
  • 1/2 cup Carrots, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Peas, cooked If using frozen peas, they can be added towards the end of the chicken cooking time to warm through.
  • 1 teaspoon Flaxseed Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Calcium Carbonate Powder

Method
 

  1. In a large pot or skillet, cook the lean ground chicken over medium heat until it is thoroughly browned and no pink remains. Break it up into small pieces as it cooks.

  2. If you haven't already, cook the brown rice according to package directions. Aim for fluffy, cooked rice.

  3. While the chicken and rice cook, peel and steam or boil the sweet potato until it's fork-tender. Mash it thoroughly with a fork or potato masher.

  4. Ensure carrots are finely chopped and peas are cooked. If using frozen peas, they can be added towards the end of the chicken cooking time to warm through.
    1/2 cup Carrots, finely chopped, 1/2 cup Peas, cooked
  5. In a large bowl, combine the cooked ground chicken, cooked brown rice, mashed sweet potato, chopped carrots, and cooked peas.

  6. Stir in the flaxseed oil and calcium carbonate powder until evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

  7. Allow the mixture to cool completely before serving to your dog. This ensures it's a safe temperature for them to eat.
