Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1/8 teaspoon Cinnamon optional

Equipment

  • - Oven
  • - Baking Sheet
  • - Parchment Paper
  • Mixing bowl

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, unsweetened applesauce, and water. If using, add the cinnamon at this stage.
1 cup Rolled Oats, 1/2 cup Unsweetened Applesauce, 1/4 cup Water, 1/8 teaspoon Cinnamon
  3. Stir all the ingredients together until a thick, cohesive dough forms. It should be firm enough to handle.
  4. Take small portions of the dough and roll them into small balls or logs. For a pretzel shape, gently curve the logs into a U-shape, then pinch the ends together.
  5. Place the shaped treats onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the treats are firm to the touch and lightly golden.
  6. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the treats cool completely on the sheet before serving them to your dog.
