- Gently warm the flour tortillas. You can do this by briefly heating them in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 15-20 seconds per side, or by wrapping them in a damp paper towel and microwaving for 20-30 seconds. This makes them more pliable and easier to roll without cracking.12 large flour tortillas or wraps
- Lay a warmed tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spoon approximately 1/4 to 1/3 cup of the chicken filling onto the center of the tortilla, spreading it slightly.
- If using, layer your desired optional toppings over the chicken filling. This could include shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, or chopped cilantro.shredded lettuce, shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack), diced tomatoes, chopped cilantro
- Fold the bottom edge of the tortilla up over the filling. Then, fold in the sides of the tortilla. Tightly roll the tortilla from the bottom upwards to create a wrap.
- Once rolled, you can serve the wraps whole, or for easier handling and a more appealing presentation, slice each wrap in half diagonally. Arrange the sliced wraps on a platter and serve immediately.
Notes
Leftover Party Wraps Recipe can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. It's best to store them without any fresh, watery toppings like diced tomatoes to prevent the tortillas from becoming soggy. If you've already sliced them, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap before placing them in the container. It is generally not recommended to reheat the assembled wraps as the tortillas can become mushy. If you have leftover filling, it can be gently warmed in a skillet or microwave before assembling fresh wraps. If you've frozen assembled wraps (though this is less ideal due to tortilla texture), thaw them completely in the refrigerator overnight and then serve them chilled or at room temperature. For best results, consume the wraps within 1-2 days of preparation.
