- Prepare the peach syrup: Combine the peeled and pitted peaches, sugar, and 1/2 cup of water in a small saucepan.
- Simmer the peach mixture over medium heat for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the peaches are very soft and the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.
- Blend the peach mixture until completely smooth. For a thinner syrup, strain the puree through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing down on the solids. Let the syrup cool completely.
- In a large pitcher, combine the cooled peach syrup and 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.
- Add 4 cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir well to combine. Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more water or a splash more lemon juice if desired.
- Chill the peach lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve over plenty of ice, garnished with fresh peach slices.
Notes
For an extra flavour boost, muddle a few fresh peach slices directly into the serving glasses before adding ice. Ensure all ingredients are well chilled before mixing for the best result.
